The app

These Terms govern DBDB DNS Control. “DBDB” means Douglas Beasley, an individual operating under the DBDB Digital Studios brand in California, United States. The app is a free, ad-free utility that connects directly to a compatible, user-operated Pi-hole v6 server. No subscription or paid feature gate is required for the functionality described here. This does not promise that every separate future product or feature will always be free.

Authorization and responsibility

Use the app only with a server you own, administer, or are authorized to control. You are responsible for the server, network, credentials, certificates, VPN, backups, access controls, filtering decisions, and recovery values. Do not expose a Pi-hole management interface through public port forwarding.

Effects of changes

Blocking controls, rules, lists, groups, clients, gravity, DNS settings, privacy and logging settings, resolver restart, and clearing operations can change filtering, expose or delete metadata, or interrupt DNS. Confirm important commands and verify the final server state. Networks and servers may fail independently; DBDB does not guarantee uninterrupted DNS, filtering results, automatic recovery, or compatibility with every configuration.

Security and acceptable use

HTTP is unencrypted. HTTPS is recommended with a certificate trusted by the device. The app does not bypass certificate validation. Do not access systems without permission, disrupt another person’s network, violate law, or bypass security controls.

Disclaimers and law

The app is provided on an “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. Nothing excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. These Terms are governed by California law, except where applicable consumer law requires otherwise.
